Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser Review

Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser reviewI bought my Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser about 2 years ago. I had been looking for a way to floss without much stress. I had tried using the regular flosser and it was always so cumbersome until I discovered the Waterpik water flosser. I decided to add this Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser Review to WiBi so that other people like me would find it and hopefully it will serve you too.

Which is the best Water Flosser?

While I was doing my research on which water flosser to buy, my aim was to know which was best on the market.  Before buying the Waterpik flosser, I read a few reviews on Amazon. The Product actually has over 8,000 reviews as at the time of this post.

There are many reasons why I bought this Waterflosser. However, the main reason is that it is easier to use and quite effective. I did not know how useful it would turn out to be but I must say that this has turned out to be one of my best investments in my dental hygiene.

Waterpik Aquarius Water Flosser, WP-660

Why use a Water flosser?

Dentists don’t stop to emphasize how important it is to not only brush one’s teeth twiceWaterpik Aquarius Water Flosser WP-660 a day but to also floss regularly as well. They say brushing is great but no matter how much you brush you will still be leaving out some areas in your denture that the brush can not reach and that’s especially the space between a tooth and the other. If you have ever gone to the dentists for cleaning you would be shocked to see the kind of dirt coming out from the teeth you brushed just a few minutes before the appointment.

Dentist today recommend you even floss with kids and get them to learn the practice early. However, I always find the floss really harmful. Each time I tried to use the normal floss, I injure my fragile gum and therefore I find myself not doing it. Until one day when I thought to myself, there must be a simpler way to it. And yes, that was when my research started. I am glad I found Waterpik.

What makes the Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser so popular?

It is a very versatile Waterflosser

I think it’s really a brilliant idea to use water to floss. Using a toothpick can be dangerous, even the normal flossers are harder to use. I am always afraid of poking my gums and really its so difficult to reach all the corners of your mouth. Using the string to floss has never been my style. I was always afraid that I would pull too hard and cut my gum with the string. This Waterpik Water Flosser is excellent for people with braces, implants, crowns, bridges, or periodontal pockets because water is flexible it will get into all the hidden places.

According to Waterpik, water flossing for about a minute a day comfortably removes up to 99.9% of plaque from treated areas as it gently massages the gums to improve overall oral health. They also claim that Waterpik Water Flossers are the only brand clinically proven to be up to 50% more effective than traditional dental floss and up to 80% more effective than Sonicare Air Floss for improving gum health.

From my experience in the last 2 years, the Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser has really helped to improve my oral health. Every night when I use it and most mornings, I feel that my teeth are so clean and I agree that for me it has been better than the traditional dental floss. However, I am not able to prove that it is 50% more effective, if you are very comfortable with the traditional dental floss then you may not need to spend so much. In my own opinion, I will buy this again.

Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser 10 Step Water Pressure

This water flosser has steps of pressure. I can only imagine if it had only the first 2 levels of pressure or just the last 2. The 7th step is the most comfortable for me as well as most effective for removing tough particles from the teeth. When I tried to use the 8 – 10th steps, I found it quite painful on the gums while the lower ones were too weak.

There are a few things that have made the Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser less than perfect for me. The first is that there is only one copy of the main water flossing tools in the set. This means that you will need to buy more copies if you want to share it with your family.

It’s a little bit too big to carry along while travelling. I travel quite a bit and I have never packed the water flosser on a trip. I may need to find a smaller water flosser.

It’s not too noisy but it is not as quiet as a traditional dental floss (smile).

Regardless of all these things. I am glad I bought the Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser and I look forward to reviewing the new version of it.

How Often Should I use Waterpik Waterflosser?

How Often in a normal condition?

You may wonder how many times do I need to floss in a day. Yes, that’s a valid question to ask.

According to the American Dental Association, in order to maintain a good dental health, you should floss at least once a day and brush twice a day.

Do you have Gum or tooth disease?

What if you have a gum disease. Once I discovered my son was beginning to develop a cavity on one of his teeth, and many times food would get cut in there. We started using the Waterpik water flosser after each food or snack. It gave him so much comfort until we got the cavity treated.

So if you have a known disease discuss with your dentist and they may recommend you use you water flosser more regular than usual.

Do you have Braces or other dental work?

For those with braces, implants, bridges, crowns or any other dental work that is hard to keep clean, I will suggest you use your Water Flosser more than once per day. You may even consider buying a cordless model to go with you when you are away from home.

Should I Get A Waterpik?

If you asked me the question; should I get a Waterpik? I would definitely say yes. I have enjoyed using the little dental assistant in my home. So I will say you should also give it a try. Or Check out some other household reviews on the site.
