The Staple Gun.

Let me tell you more:

I got my dinning table set in 2012, the seat cover came in nude colour and velvety in nature. It’s easy to clean however, very easy to dirty as well. And with 2 active boys around my efforts are unnoticed everyday. I got an idea sometimes ago to find a clear plastic (transparent rubber sheet) to cover it so that it can just be wipeable but never found a good one.

Until my last trip to ikea, when I found this nice fabric that is like plastic yet sophisticated enough to be elegant. I also got my staple gun from a hardware store. But today was the day. As usual someone spilled Fanta (Orange Drink like mirinda) on the chairs and that was it, I had had enough. Brought out my tools, got the whole house working and here is the before and after.

All I did was unscrew the nuts attaching the seat to the metal frame, used the seat to measure the fabric needed for each seat. Living about 3 inches on each side to allow for space to staple.

I removed the black fabrics off the base, and then stapled the new fabric on top of the old one. The first staples went to the 4 sides of each seat to keep the fabric in place, then all around doing the corners last. The corners requires a bit of care so as to have a clean final look.
After showing my before and after picture, many wanted to have this kinda tools so as to do the same.

However, the challenge became how and where to find the tool in Nigeria.

Then I did a search to know where to find the staple gun and lo and behold it’s only a few thousands of Naira on Konga.com.
